Welcome to East Grinstead Angling Society Website
Kidbrooke - The committee decided that it would not renew its rental on Kidbrooke. We have not enjoyed a formal agreement with Michael Hall School for some years and the ad-hoc arrangement is very restrictive about when we can fish. We were aware it was being fished by people who do not pay and the school does not bailiff the water. The lake was also becoming increasing difficult to fish due to lack of maintenance by the school.
For nearly 60 years EGAS has promoted angling in the Wealden ponds and lakes surrounding East Grinstead; as well as the Eden Brook which starts its journey to the River Medway from our locality. The waters we own or control offer some of the best club course fishing to be found in the South East. With club records such as Bream of nearly 8lbs, Carp over 20lbs, Chub nearly 7lbs and Tench of 6lbs you can be assured there is some fantastic fishing out there waiting for you. We have top quality carp fishing at Readers Lake, our main match venue, and many of our other waters also hold good stocks of double figure fish. Currently one of our waters has platforms with disabled access and some others have parking close to the pegs.
You can find more information about all of our waters by going to the Fisheries section of the website.
To cater for the competitive angler there is an active match section and the East Grinstead team have been regular qualifiers in the Angling Times Supercup.
The Join our Club page has full details about membership and an application form.
If you want any further information the contact us page will put you in touch with us.
