Fish Survey at Readers

 

A fish survey was undertaken at Readers in April 2012 as a guide for a possible restocking programme.

More details of the full report from AGA associates will be put on the website when it is received. Early indications based on the netting are that the lake currently contains about 1800 lbs of fish in total.

Given the current  risk of illegal fishing details of invidual species will not be put on the website.

No tench were netted but we know they are there. Their absence was probably due to the lead line at the bottom of the net having to pass over ledges that left some gaps, allowing  the tench and some of the other bottom feeders to swim around or under the net

Surprise!!! A 25 lbs pike was netted and removed by AGA in an aerated tank.
